This includes the processing and reporting of laboratory specimens assuring rapid and accurate results, maintaining laboratory records, training and competency assessment of lab technical staff, ensuring the departments are in compliance with CAP, JCAHO, and other accrediting agencies. Serving as a liaison with physicians and nursing staff. Following all hospital and laboratory policies and procedures with a focus on improving the patient experience, quality of care, and the current and future financial performance of the laboratory. Ensures performance of all LIS functions necessary to complete patient testing and specimen processing. Teaching students who are enrolled in the School of Medical Technology under the Direction of the Director of the Medical Technology School. This includes the processing and reporting of laboratory specimens assuring rapid and accurate results, maintaining laboratory records, training and competency assessment of lab technical staff, ensuring the departments are in compliance with CAP, JCAHO, and other accrediting agencies.Serving as a liaison with physicians and nursing staff.Operating within the departments' budgets, and following all hospital and laboratory policies and procedures with a focus on improving the patient experience, quality of care, and the current and future financial performance of the laboratory.Is responsible for ensuring established QC calibrations procedures for all tests including initiation or remedial action for out of control situations are followed.Ensures the performance of all routine maintenance and calibration of clinical analyzers.Ensures performance of all LIS functions necessary to complete patient testing and specimen processing.Must participate in continuing education programs and consults current technical literature to keep abreast of changes in the field.Is responsible for maintaining reagent and supply inventories.Ability to understand the technical and workload requirements of the department in order to determine staffing needs.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with management and staff to address, resolve, and improve relationships to satisfy customer expectations.Demonstrates positive attitude, initiative, flexibility to change and adapt.Specialist qualification in discipline preferred.Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload.RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD WILL NOT BE APPROVEDTravelermustbe willing to work July 4 and Labor Day holidays, including weekends before(If Needed/Scheduled).
