Source=AHSA;SourceID=42306 ;Status=Open;Association=Bay Area Hospital HCS ;Client=Bay Area Hospital ;City=Coos Bay ;State=OR;Zip=97420 ;Start=8/21/2023;End=11/20/2023;Duration=13 weeks 91 days;Cert=Registered Nurse ;Specialty=OR ;Unit=Operating Room ;Shift=6:30 AM-5:00 PM;# of Postions=1;Type=Travel;BillRate=$104.00;minBillRate=$104.00;Description=PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manages patients undergoing moderate sedation, including medication administration, monitoring, routine and emergency airwaymanagement Prepares Operating Room for surgery Reviews provider s preference card, confirms all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available Opens supplies and instruments using aseptic technique; checking for package integrity, expiration dates and indicators Performs counts with scrub technician Administers medications aseptically to a sterile field Transports patients to the OR and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to give report and finish documentation as needed Stays with patients to assist with induction anesthesia Sees patient in pre-op area for assessment and interview, reviews chart/consent and checks for surgical site markings When patients are stable and anesthetized, positions the patients, applies warmers and preps the surgical sites while maintaining patient sprivacy Monitors draping to make sure all areas are covered with sterile drapes Initiates surgical safety checklists and procedural timeout Connects all equipment and cords Continues to monitor surgical field, anticipates needs of surgical team, confines and contains sponges in sponge counter (as applicable;assesses patient for urine output, thermal considerations, etc.) Assists and facilitates room turnoverAssesses patients, as appropriate to the scope of care the nurse will provide. Assessments may include:physical, psychosocial, learning needs and barriers, needs related to age/culture, discharge planning. Establishes nursing diagnoses based on results of assessments and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Plans care according to identified diagnoses and needs. Updates plan of care as appropriate. Implements/performs individualized care, based on nursing care plan and the nurse s role with the patient. This care may include but notbe limited to: Assisting with activities of daily living, including fall risk management and safe patient handling. Medication administration Skin assessment/wound care Pain management Operation/manipulation of biomedical and other patient care and testing equipment, including but not limited to infusion pumps, patienttransfer equipment, cardiopulmonary monitors, invasive catheters and drains, thermoregulation devices, measurement devices,medication dispensing cabinets, external therapeutic devices. Assisting the physician and other licensed, independent practitioners with invasive and non-invasive procedures. Teaching patients and their families about current illness, medical tests, medication, general healthcare, illness and disease prevention,and wellness promotion. Providing appropriate assignment, supervision, and direction to unlicensed assistive personnel in order to ensure optimum patient care. Providing interdisciplinary coordination and facilitation of overall care. Documents patient assessments, interventions, care, and teaching in the electronic medical record. Documents in paper format, asnecessary. Documentation is complete, concise, timely, and legible. Evaluates care provided, communicates patient status and results of care to the interdisciplinary team.
Submission requirements: Recent (within past 5 years) acute care hospital experience - REQURIEDMust have someone with Circulate General, Ortho, Urology, OB/GYN, ENT and Robotics experience -REQURIED
