While there are nurse aides, any nurse may be responsible for Total patient care
12 hr shift on 32-bed Stepdown unit in 137-bed hospital. CA RN license required + BLS ACLS AND NIHSS . Experience required: 5 years telemetry. Must pass telemetry rhythm interpretation test. Experience in titrating cardiac drips such as cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, dopamine. Experience with insulin and heparin drips. Experience with Alaris IV pump systems desirable. Experience in caring for post interventional cardiac cath patients a plus.

Floating will be asked to float from 1.main east ortho 2. main west medsurg 3. terrace west oncology 4. terrace east medsurg 5. main pavillion or to 6. Garden West Mstele, if floating to main pavillion (acute tele/stepdown) will take patients in scope of practice
Floor specific orientation 1st day is spent gettting a brief orientation to the layout of each unit, then they will get 1-2 days shadowing and 1-2 days of taking a partial patient load on a few different units, they like to have a traveler work a specific unit for 2-3 days to really get a rhythm and feel for the unit before moving them everywhere

Cancellation Policy:medsurg/Tele pass/fail test required. May cancel equivalence to 1 weekly guaranteed hours for that assignment. 32, 36, or 40. 26 week contracts have double the cancellation policy.
